March 2016: one week to launch everything

Aware of the need for a collective effort to support the digital transformation of society and the economy, Pix was launched in France in 2016.

Their initial mission: to promote digital literacy for everyone, from school age to senior citizens, including the professional world.

Just a few months after the idea for the project was born, an entire week was devoted to its creation. The goal: to come out with a platform prototype!

Thanks to an initiative led by the French government, Pix then benefited just a few weeks later from a small IT development team.

First steps: user feedback and the ambassador community

Designed as closely as possible to user needs, the beta version of Pix was put to the test by high school students, university students, and professionals. Panels were also held with teachers, unions, and HR managers.

The teams noticed that a natural engagement developed based on direct use of the platform.

Thanks to these tests and panels carried out with potential users, Pix quickly identified ambassadors and united them into a community.

It is thanks above all to their ideas, expertise, and commitment that Pix was able to scale up successfully.

Since then, Pix has supported this network in schools, universities, companies, public administrations and beyond.

Toward a shared educational common good

Pix now has around 160 employees and brings together 11 French and international members involved in education and professional training.

Although Pix is French-based, the platform is now evolving toward a internationally shared educational common good among a community of countries.

It continues its international expansion and is now used in 40 countries through versions of the platform’s designed for French-speakers, English-speakers, and Dutch-speakers.
